Strawberry Rhubarb Hand Pies

Updated: Apr 7, 2021

Presentation: 7/10. The slits, size, and shape of the pies make them look visually appealing, but they're also kind of messy, especially the filling leaking out of the pie.

Taste: 6/10. The filling is sweet and tart, but the crust was kind of burnt and too bland, and the ratio was steered more towards pie than filling.

Texture: 5/10. The filling was gooey, which is good, but the pie crust was too tough and crumbly and once again, the ratio was off.

Time/Convenience: 1/10. The rhubarb was IMPOSSIBLE to find. We had to go to about five different stores to look for it, which took about a week. It took a while to make the pie crust and make the pies.

All in all: 4.75/10. Tastes like strawberries, in a small hand pie.
