Taste: 8/10. They tasted pretty good. The cookie was light and sweet and the apple filling added a touch of tartness. My critique is that I would have liked more apple in the apple to cookie ratio.
Texture: 6/20. The cookie was pretty soft but the apple filling was too mushy in my opinion.
Presentation: 5/10. The filling looked too brown and messy.
Time/Convenience: 5/10. The prep time was short as usual, but peeling and grating the apples was a time-consuming task. From start to finish the recipe took me an hour and a half.
All in all: 6/10. As American as apple pie thumbprint cookies.
